THE ROMAN GOVERNMENT
There were two consuls in charge. They were men(women weren't allowed to be consuls). They controlled the army, and had to decide to start a war or how much taxes to collect and what the laws were passed. They both had to agree in order to do stuff. If one said no it would not be done. Consuls would sometimes join the senate. The senate gave advice to them (women could not be in the senate either). If you were a part of the senate you would stay there until you die. The prefects ran the city. Tribunes spoke for the poor. An assembly of all men (again no women were allowed) voted on the big problems. Governors took care of certain provinces of Rome.
